I was delighted to welcome the Revd Gary Galway to Magheracross to tell us about how the parish of Drumcree has delveloped following its Generous Giving campaign two years ago.
I was very pleased with the confirmation classes last week and they continue for another five weeks on Tuesday (year 9) and Thursday (year 10) at 6:30 pm. Also on Tuesday at 7:30 pm (I'll be late!) the football club are holding a planning meeting for this year's festival in June. If you think you might be able to help with that, do let someone know or go to the meeting.
Next Sunday is the annual Sports Service at 7.00 pm so all football fans, cyclists, runners, bowlers take note. Our special guests are the Silver Tones and Harry McConkey.
Monday 25 February 2019 at 8.00 pm in the Methodist Hall : Rosemary Hillyard (who came from England to settle in Ballinamallard), author of 'A time to be', a successful romantic historical novel set partly in the Edwardian era and with an involvement with the suffragettes : talk about writing and how she come to be an author.
Ballinamallard Football Club Ladies Committee are organising a Fun Evening on Saturday 23 February 2019 at 7.30 pm in the Football Club. Admission: £5. Everyone welcome.
The Mothers' Union are having a buffet style lunch consisting of a main course and a sweet to raise fund for the branch. This will take place on Sunday 17 March 2019 after the 11.00 am service. We hope that parishioners will support this event.
'Just for Today' is a wonderful little book of encouragement and inspiration produced by Canon Paul Hoey and the parishioners in St Canice's Church, Eglinton as a fundraiser to offset flood damage to both their church and Hall last year. Some copies are available at £7 each. If you would like a copy see Henry Robinson or the churchwardens.
