A team of Cub Scouts from Ballinamallard attended the N.I. Cub Football finals in Bangor on Saturday last (3rd June) and came home with two trophies.

In the morning competition the Cubs drew three games and lost two, and qualified for the "BLUES" section of the competition. In this section they were up against teams from Belfast, Londonderry, Banbridge and Strabane.

They got off to a brilliant start beating Strabane 5 - 0 (goal scorers: Dean Corrigan 3, Matthew Beatty 1, Justin McBride 1).
In the second game the drew with 21st Belfast 0 - 0.
Game three saw a win against Banbridge 1 - 0 (goal scorer: Justin McBride)
Another good result in game 4 against Londonderry 2 - 0 (goal scorer: Justin McBride 2)
The final game against 7th Belfast was a "must win" game to finish top of the group. Score 1 - 0 (goal scorer: Justin McBride)
The team finished top of their Group on 13 points and won the Blues Trophy.

At the presentation they were presented with the Blues Trophy, there was an extra surprise when they were announced winners of The Best Cup for the highest scoring team, it was great to see Justin McBride (top scorer) collect this new trophy for the first time.

The Cubs rounded the day off with a meal in McDonalds on the way home.
